We decided to go ahead and send Alex to school this morning as to not disrupt his daily routine before we headed out to the Dr. So I put him on the bus like normal at 7:15 and then I started my morning routine. LOL I came in and got ready and went and put gas in the car and picked up 2 gallons of milk. The 2 smallest calves have gotten the scours and we've changed them over from milk replacer to whole milk to try and fix that little problem. By the time I got all that done and got home and got Michael up we had just enough time to run down and feed all the critters and get to school to pick up Alex at 9:45. Our appointment was at 11am in Louisville and we didn't know where we were going to we made sure that we had plenty of time.
First the Dr. took Michael and I back and went over Alex's behavior at home and had us fill out a question sheet rating his behaviors. Then he told us he was going to bring Alex back. We weren't allowed to stay back there with him it was one on one with the Dr and Alex. The Dr said it would be an hour to an hour and a half and that we could go and do whatever while he was evaluating Alex. So we headed out to Lowes to shop around. I'm getting ready to redo our bathroom now so I had Michael showing me the tile that he liked ect... and we were surfing the clearance stuff.
When we got back to the Dr. we only had to wait about 15 minutes for him to finish up with Alex. He then took us back to talk about his "findings". He chuckled at first and talked about what a "spitfire" Alex was and that he was full of stories and just went a mile a minute the entire time. Got him on a good day I guess. :o) He told us what we've suspected all along that Alex is definitely ADHD. He's got all the signs. We meet with the pediatrician on Thursday to discuss medications........ Stay tuned.................

September 28, 2008 quiet day
Alex didn't get home from his sleepover until after 3pm so Mommy and Daddy slept in until after 9am which is unheard of around the house is Alex is home. :o) We fed the calves and just piddled around the house and then Dad and Michael went and worked on deer stands and Mom and I rode to Wally World. Tomorrow is the big Dr visit. We're all anxiously awaiting the outcome of this visit.
Alex had a great time with Ty. They got to ride a horse and now guess what?? Alex thinks he needs a horse. We told him he is just going to have to tuff it out with the goats, cows and dogs for now. Mommy and Daddy have their hands full.

September 27, 2008 Sporting Clays

This morning I wasn't feeling any better so I told Michael I wasn't going to go shoot. He started waking up people to get someone to go with him to the shoot. No dice. I felt bad for him so I drug myself out of bed and went to the bathroom several times before we left and then ran to Dad's to get some "miracle medicine" as he called it. I took one before we left since it said it could cause drowsiness. No help whatsoever. I was in the bathroon 4 times at the shoot before we ever went out on the range. Seemed to have gotten it all out and was fine until I ate lunch. Started feeling aweful again. So now not only do I have an upset stomach I've got the bruise from hell on my shoulder. I took 2 more of Dad's wonder pills and slept away the afternoon and by the evening I was feeling much better. Alex is going to spend the night with his friend Ty tonight which is a good thing. I would hate it if he ended up with what I've got. On a very very good note, he had 5 smiley faces this week. That's a first since school started!!!! Go Alex!!
September 24-26 Virus

Wednesday I worked in Spencer County and had a McDonalds salad for lunch. That was apparantly my undoing for the rest of the week. Evidently I got food poisoning. I started getting sick about an hour and a half after I ate. I only got sick 2 times that day but it was very watery poo. :o) Thursday at work it kept getting worse and worse and Friday I didn't even go in to work. I didn't drag myself out of bed until 2:00pm and still felt aweful. I started to feel a bit better by that evening but 100%.
Seems like everytime I would eat I would backslide. Alex stayed with Mom and Dad Friday night since Michael and I are supposed to be shooting in the Steel Tech sporting clays Saturday morning. They are going to be taking him to the soccer game tomorrow for us. Hopefully I will feel better by in the morning. So the toilet, pepto and antacids have been my best friends.

September 23, 2008 Busy evening
Tonight Alex had soccer practice at 6:30. Michael took him while I stayed home and "tended the homestead" as he called it. Now in addition to 6 dogs to take care of, I'm feeding all those calves. We've got 2 bottles but no racks to put them in and buckets. 3 of them will only take a bottle and 1 is doing great on the bucket. Eventually we're going to try to get them all on a bucket but for now this is what we do. :o)

September 22, 2008 What were we thinking???

Rundown of the day's events. LOL Alex got a smiley face at school. Yahoo. Michael fought with a tree branch all day long and eventually ended up pulling it down with the truck. I wish I'd been there with the video camera to catch that one. He was quite frazzled when I talked to him. :o) He wasn't going to let the tree get the best of him and I quote " if it takes me all night I'll gonna get this branch down." When I got home from work we headed off to the sale barn. Our plan was to buy a friend for our calf that we bought 2 weeks ago. Show at left. He's gotten quite a bit bigger. Little did we know we were going to end up with a goat and 3 more calves. The goat is a Nubian to go with our registered buck Caspian and the other 3 calves.....We have no rhyme or reason. I'm gonna have to try to milk the goat to feed the calves. LOL 3 of them are on bottles and the other one will drink milk from a bucket. So tomorrow it's off to Southern states to buy 2 more bottles and 3 bottle racks. LOL Seriously could someone tell me what we were thinking??????

September 21, 2008 Lazy day
This has been Michael's weekend to work so we have to be quiet so he can sleep. Not the easiest thing to do with a 5 year old let me tell ya. We cleaned his room this morning and mopped the floor. Alex loved doing that. There have been a few plumbing issues with the new bathroom so today I had to run out and get a coupling to put 2 pieces of pipe together and we will finally be finished with it. Since the cabinet was bigger than the other the sink is not in the same place and the drain pipe coming out of the wall was too long. Dad cut it off for me and both of us bought what we thought we needed to put it back together and both of us were wrong. :o) Got dinner in the oven right now and then not for sure what we'll get into. Michael leaves at 6:00 for work so who knows.
September 20, 2008 Finally!!!!!!!!!!
The power came back on last night around 6:00. WHOOHOO. Now comes the task of cleaning up the mess. :o) We've got the fridge cleaned out now we just have to move all of the food back in from the garage. I had 2 milk crates full of tomatos that ruined since I couldn't can them. That's quite frustrating. We've got plenty but hate to see anything go to waste and it's not like we wouldn't have used them. Alex had a soccer game this morning. Not sure where his head was at besides apparantly up his sphinkter. LOL He was in lala land big time. They made the mistake of putting him at goalie and he just stood there looking around and we would have to yell at him to make him pay attention when the ball was coming down field towards him. He couldn't seem to keep his hands to himself on the field either. Our Dr. appointment is September 29 and we are so ready to finally have some answers.

September 19, 2008 hmmmmmmmm

Still no power this morning......................................Today is the community helper parade at school and Mom, Dad, Aimee, Dusty and I are going over to watch. Last night we put him a state trooper outfit together courtesy of Uncle Dusty. Michael is off delivering wood. :o) Found out about 45 minutes before hand that Alex had been bad in the bathroom and then had spit on a little girl on the playground. So today will make 2 sad faces for this week. One less than last week but still not what we were hoping for. Baby steps I guess. :o) On a good note when Dad got to school he said that there were 4 KU trucks in town and they were getting ready to set a new pole. WHOOPPEEEE!!!! Maybe we'll have power tonight!!
September 18, 2008 Still in the dark

Well, we still have no power. It's getting really aggrivating but what can you do. You can only harrass the power company so many times. :o) So we're still hanging out in the camper and spending a ton in gas to keep the generator going so that we don't loose what we've got in the freezers and the fridge. We've been hanging out in the house until it gets too dark to see then we move out to the camper for the rest of the evening. Luckily we can boil water for baths and whatnot and Dad still has their generator hooked into the house so I can fix my hair for work. Alex is still having a blast camping in the driveway but Mommy and Daddy are so over it.
September17, 2008 Driveway camping

Still no power and we're tired of milling around in the dark so last night after work I pulled the camper out and set it up. The generator will run the camper with no problem and we can still keep the fridge and freezers hooked up. Plus I ran the satellite cable from the garage and we've got TV!! Whooohooo. The pic isn't so good, I took it in the dark. LOL

September 16, 2008 still no power
Still no power today. Just got off the phone with Michael and NOPE! I called KU they are still not giving any estimates on when we will be getting back up and running. Our computers have been down at work all day. It's just been great. (yeah right) We've been trying to scrounge enough hot water for bottles for the calf and being able to take a bath. At this point I think I may drag the camper out tonight and stay in it. I can't handle another night of candlelight. It's driving me nuts. Michael's been working the last 2 days so it's not really a biggie for him except there's not been any dinner. :o) Tonight Alex has soccer practice at 6:30 so that'll get us out for a bit.
September 15, 2008 :o)
Alex got a smiley face at school today. Let's hope he can keep it up for the rest of the week. We still don't have power. No updates on when we will be getting power back. So I won't be able to get a pic on here for a couple of days. We're getting ready to drag the camper out and live in it until we get power back. Our generator is still keeping our fridge and freezer going. Let's hope they get the power back soon!!!!!!!

September 14, 2008 WINDDDDDDDDDDDDDYYYY

We've been without power since 12:30 this afternoon. I had to go to a funeral visitation in Louisville and have now seen more of Louisville than I'd ever care to. Everywhere we went they were detouring us somewhere else. Michael sent me a message around 4:00 showing me the tree that was down and also informed me that it had destroyed the goat shed. Luckily none of them were hurt. Flower has some cuts on her where it looks like she got hit with a piece of metal but other than that everyone is fine. The tree that the wind took however is HUGE!! On a good note Michael will have plenty of firewood to sell this winter. :o) We had a boston butt and slab of ribs in the smoker and they took a tumble in the wind yesterday but Michael just picked it up and put it back together so we'd have dinner. We were able to move all of the food from the fridge in the house to the shop and run the fridge and freezers out there on the generator so we didn't loose anything. Hopefully the power outage won't last too long.

September 13, 2008 First Soccer Game

This morning Alex got to put on those fabulous shoes and play soccer for the first time. We really think that he is going to like it. There's tons of action so that's good for him to get rid of some of that energy that he is so full of. He really was good to. He took off with the ball just like he'd played a ton of times before. We may have the next "Beckham" on our hands. :o) Today was really a good day all around at the Fitch house. Mommy got some cleaning done, Daddy got to
put out some food plots for the deer and did some bushhogging. Then tonight we had Mom and Dad over for trout. YUMMY!! I think that a lot of it had to do with soccer wearing him down this morning. We've got practice on Tuesday night and then games are every Saturday at 10:00am.

September 12, 2008 Better Day

Well, this morning we got up and Alex asked me if he was good today if I'd come back and eat lunch with him so I told him I would. I checked in with the office at 11:00 and he'd not been to the office so I headed over to eat with him. He was so excited when I got there. He gave me a big hug and kiss and held my hand and took me through the lunch line and fixed my tray for me. It was very cute. At the table he was introducing me to all his friends and after lunch was over he held my hand and we walked back to his class where I got more hugs and eskimo kisses. Hopefully he can fulfill his promise of being good for the remainder of the day. I'll update later tonight and post a pic.
********Alex ended up with a smiley face today. Great news!! We had a really good evening. So much better than the rest of the week. He got to pick out 1 toy to get back and was so excited. Lets just hope that next week will be good. I think we are going to take turns going over and having lunch with him since that seemed to really motivate him for now to be good.********

September 11, 2008
Well, I'm just about to throw in the towel. I was going to have lunch with Alex today and surprise him but guess who got the surprise. ME! He had just been delivered to the principals office AGAIN!!! Talking back, telling the teacher NO. You name it. I've had it and I'm sure that Michael is going to go through the roof when he finds out. I can only hope that I can get ahold of him before he gets him off the bus. Guess what???? No pic again today. If it seems like I'm a bit upset guess what?? I AM!! My kindergartner is now on indefinite in school suspension until he can learn how to behave.
September 10, 2008
Well another bang up day at school. Today was early release so school lets out at 2:20. I was working in Spencer County and Michael got pulled for jury duty at 1:00 so we had to make arrangements to get Alex off the bus. I ended up being able to leave work at 12:00 and had another worker coming to cover the rest of the afternoon for me. I had a few stops to make and ended up getting home around 2:00. Michael didn't get chosen for jury duty so he was also already home. He told me that he thought my friend had called my cell ( I forgot it on the table) and my house from the board office. Turns out it was the principal had been trying to get ahold of me since 11:00. Alex was in inschool suspension. He'd been calling names, talking back, unruly and just bad in general. When I called the school I told them to hold him there and not put him on the bus and I'd be over to talk to the principal and the teacher. They are optimistic that they can get through to him. Michael and I are just feeling defeated right now...............So guess what no pic for today.

September 9, 2008 Haircut??
Sept 8, 2008 Bad day, Good Day

Well, Alex spent today in the principals office again for pinching a kid and making him bleed all because he was sitting in his chair. I talked with his teacher this afternoon and we don't know what to do with him. His aggressive behavior is getting worse and his first reaction when something doesn't go his way is to hit. He threw a popcicle and a 4 pack of toilet paper at me over the weekend for getting on him about hitting Uncle Dusty. It's definitely back to the drawing board with discipline so stay tuned.....................
On another note Michael and I went to the sale barn tonight to sell 7 of our goats. That was rough on me since I was quite attached to the babies but I bought a bottle feeder calf while we were there. :o) He'll be in the freezer this time next year. YUM YUM. I say that now, but I won't want to send him to slaughter I'm sure.
Sept 6-7 Bathroom remodeling

This weekend Michael has to work so I'm tearing Alex's bathroom apart and putting down new floor, a new vanity and mirror. I broke the other one getting it off the wall. I'm doomed to have bad luck forever. :o) This is the 2nd mirror I've broken. Dad helped me get the toilet and the old cabinet and sink out so I can primer and paint and get the floor laid down where it will be under the toilet and cabinet. I'm so excited. Alex wanted it decorated in transformers so I'm painting it candy apple red and putting up white trim. I left my camera at the office so I'll take a pic one night and add it on to the post.
September 5, 2008 Principal's office AGAIN!

Well, Alex had smiley faces Tues, Wed. and Thurs and just couldn't do the same for Friday. Ended up in the principals office 2x for disrupting class, not listening and not keeping his hands to himself. So we had a big fat sad face for today. The teachers note in the folder said that it was a terrible day so I can only imagine. We're going to have to come up with some sort of punishment just not sure what at this point. Nothing seems to bother him that we take away, spanking doesn't work. We're just at a loss with him right now. The date on the camera is still off. Not sure what's going on with it. I'll work on that later. :o)

Sept 3, 2008 Sasha

Here's the new little man. Not so little anymore though. Sasha is growing like a weed and absolutely loves Alex. I think that they are going to be the best buds getting to grow up together. Sasha is doing very well learning the ropes and really seems to like the goats. Not sure why because Caspian and Stanley stink to high heaven where they are trying their best to impress the ladies. The little guys are still very cute though and don't smell at all. Sasha even likes to eat corn and feed with them. It's a little bit crazy but whatever works I guess. Dad got a new goat named Sassy and she is being really mean to Ellie. Sassy likes dog food and has plowed Ellie a number of times to get to her food.

September 2, 2008 Butter Beans
Yesterday afternoon we picked butter beans and shelled them for almost 4 hours. They'd better be the best beans we've ever eaten for all the time they are consuming. I decided that the best way to preserve them was to pressure can them so I was up last night until11:30 running the canner. I didn't even take the last run out before I went to bed. LOL I just left them in the canner until this morning.
August 30-Sept 1, 2008 Fun weekend

We definitely had a great time camping. It rained on us all the way there last night but luckily was clear when we got there to set up. It was just a smidge over 100 miles to the campground from our house. We thought it was farther than that. So it's now going to be some place that we'll go back to frequently since it's so close. The kids had a great time swimming and playing on the bank. The teenagers had a good time on the innertube. Michael always gives them a run for their money on the tubes. Usually a couple of good rounds and they're done. This time the girls got a bit cocky and he just did donuts in the water until they finally came off at a high rate of speed.
Back at camp we had cornhole boards set up and we had our own little "yard" . 4 of our sites were right together in a little cul'de sac so the kids were able to run around and play without being out away from us too much. Alex has a blast getting to play with the other kids especially since the only kiddo interaction he gets now is at school or camping. I'm going to be uploading pics to the computer tonight. I'm at least trying to keep up on the blogging part. I just have to go back and post pics. :o)
The ride home was going great until Rob and Amy blew a tire on the camper. They didn't even realize they had blown a tire. We didn't have cell service and they were just not paying attention to the crazy lady hanging out the window behind them trying to flag them down. (me) :o)

Not sure what's happened to the date on the camera. Michael's been using it. LOL We'll blame it on him. :o)
August 29, 2008 Green River

Alex managed to squeek out a smiley face for today so we get to go camping. LOL He was so proud of himself and very excited that he got to go camping. I think we made a good decision telling him that he wasn't going. Now he can appreciate what being good can get him. So we are heading out afterwork for Green River. We've never camped there before and are quite excited to try out a new place. There are 22 of us in all going. Should make for an interesting weekend. We are bunking with friends this weekend in their camper so we will get to save some money on gas. Always a plus. :o)
