June 21, 2008 T-ball Parents vs. Kids Tournamtent

This year instead of doing an official tournament which lasts the entire day and we're lucky to keep the kids attention for an hour. :o) We decided to have the kids play their parents. Each gave would last 45 minutes and then we'd have a trophy presentation and the next team would play. It worked out great. The kids had a blast and so did most of the parents. The parents had to play with "handicaps". We had to bat with a big green foam bat, opposite handed with only 1 hand and then run backwards around the bases. When we took the field there were no gloves and we had to field the ball opposite handed. The kids were so great and played better than they had all season. It was a great ending to a season that didn't start off so great.

June 19, 2008 Bass Pro

Tonight we headed off to Bass Pro to get supplies for our week long vacation at Lake Cumberland. Michael needs new waders since his sprung a leak and it gets a bit chilly with 52 degree water pooling around your foot. They are part of his fathers day gift. He also got a pretty blue bicycle. He got himself a new ultralight fishing pole, baits, hooks and weights. I got a new pair of jeans and a new shirt. :o) Sorry again no pic. Forgot to take the camera. I know I know. I'm slipping.

June 19, 2008 Last official t-ball game

Tonight is the last season game for t-ball. With being co-commisioner, scorekeeper and running the concession stand, I don't have a lot of chances to get pics. And, there are only so many pics of Alex playing in the dirt that one can have. :o) So there is no pic for today. The last time I tried to take a pic from the scorers box all I got was the fence. I should have a ton of good pics from the tournament on Saturday!

June 17, 2008 Recycling

Michael, Alex and I have started saving cans. Mom is saving plastic bottles and her office is recycling them. I've been raiding the trash cans at work and Michael is doing the same. We gather up cans after the tball games and have accumulated quite a stash. We've become the dumpster divers. LOL We are trying to do our part to save the planet. :o) We don't use the dryer but for towels and socks during the summer, everything else gets hung out on the clothes line to dry. Michael and Alex usually shower together to save water. You name it......

June 16, 2008 Bad Mommy

Everyone remember the picture of the pretty yellow flower that Alex gave me for Mothers Day?? Well, I have managed to kill it. I didn't want to take it home cause I liked having it on my desk. It's been looking pretty sad in the little carton. I think I've finally did it in. I've given it water, light, love. I even talked to it. :o) Didn't work though................

June 15, 2008 Tattoo

Aimee and Dusty brought Alex back some tattoo's from Cedar Point. I think it was supposed to go around his arm, but skinny minnies arms are too little so we put it across his back. He is all about some tattoo's. I'm sure that Mommy doesn't have anything to do with that. Wink Wink.

June 13, 2008 Fashion statement

Tonight I have bunco so Daddy and Alex are going to check the trot lines in the river. Michael and his muck boots and shorts is going to be the latest craze and Alex and his mismatched clothing is not far behind. LOL

June 12, 2008 Too early

Alex has to get up and go to work with me at least one day a week. This is him at about 7am telling me that he doesn't want to get up.

June 11, 2008 Granny

Here's a pic of Granny and Alex hanging out in front of Popal's shop. Anymore Alex won't just smile for a pic he's got to have some sort of silly pose. He really is getting tired of me snapping pics everytime you turn around. LOL I have to try and catch him off guard and that's not working to well either.

June 10, 2008 Gardening

Tonight we worked on weeding the garden and planting some beans, cantaloupe, watermelon and cucumbers. The garden is now completely full.

We've gotten onions and radishes so far to eat.

June 8, 2008 Tired Mikey

We got home from camping today and Mikey has to go to work tonight. Yuck! He must have been exhausted cause we got everything put away and he crashed on the couch.

June 7, 2008 Day on the water

This morning we got up, ate some breakfast, sweated and headed for the lake. We pulled up into a cove and stayed there all day until around 5:30 or so. We swam and the kids played on a water trampoline, took turns on the jet ski and jumping off of small rocks on the bank. It was hot so everyone was in the water for almost 8 hours that day and we looked like raisins by the time we got out. There were a couple of teenagers with us who had been dying to do some tubing. So, while everyone else headed back to camp we took the girls and Alex and his buddy Cole for a boat ride. The girls loved the tube. Cole and Alex not so much. The water was pretty rough and it didn't take Alex long to decide that he'd had enough. Cole rode by himself and hung on for almost 20 minutes, even got airborne for a sec since he doesn't weigh anything. Finally he came flying off the tube. I couldn't get the camera up fast enough. He practically did cart wheels across the water. He was done after that. LOL The girls would ride together and they got tossed 3 or 4 times before they were done in for the evening.

We headed back to camp for dinner of smoked boston butt and corn on the cob, taters and onions and baked beans. YUM YUM Plus plenty of margaritas and cold beer to go around.

June 6, 2008 Hot weekend!

We up and went to Rough for the weekend since we got our hay done early. Some friends of ours were already going so we tagged along. :o) Here's Mr. Serious driving the boat. LOL He really looks like he's concentrating pretty hard. I think everyone is getting tired of me and the camera. It was just us and another couple the first "day". That evening another couple and their family showed up and then another couple showed up on Saturday morning. In all there were 19 of us camping. It was very busy.

Alex has changed so much in the last few months. I was looking at a collage that I had done right after we brought him home. It's amazing how different he is but still in ways the same. June 4, 2008 Look who's in my office

My 2 favorite guys were in my office today. I actually had to bring Alex with me since Michael doesn't get home from work before I have to be at work. 2 days a week we've got a friends daughter keeping him at the house but the other 2 Mikey usually has to pick him up at my office. Notice he looks a little tired and grumpy. :o)

June 3, 2008 "little" zoo

Alex has been chatting a lot about the little zoo. It took me a bit to figure out what he was talking about but the lightbulb finally came on. Last year they set up a petting zoo in the Vanity Fair parking lot. They had ponies, goats, kangaroo's a baby tiger and it's mama and various other animals. Alex had his picture taken with the baby tiger. He's been carrying on about going back to the little zoo so I guess we're going to have to keep an eye out for it. Anywho here's the pic of him and the baby tiger.

ACK!! I hate these things. The buzzing is horrible and the mess they are making out of our cars is aweful. When you drive through New Castle it's like they are bombing your vehicle. I hope they will be gone soon.

June 1, 2008 A day in the pool

We got back from camping and decided we hadn't had enough of the water yet. The pool is starting to warm up good and it was quite hot outside. Alex hasn't changed a bit with the water from last year. He's still ate up with it and being tossed around. Uncle Dusty obliged him with a toss through the air. :o) I've got to get the pic from Mom's camera and post it. I will get it put on later.

May 31, 2008 A day on the water and doggie's swimming

We got up early this morning and went out to get oil for the boat and pick up some more drinking water. Alex ended up getting a new life jacket while we were out. He wanted the 100.00 wet suit but we talked him into just getting a new life jacket. :o) After we got back to camp we headed out on the boat. The lake water was showing about 73 degrees which is chilly to say the least. As soon as we got out on the lake Alex did a "cannonball" off the boat. He wasn't expecting the water to be so cold. Needless to say he didn't stay in there long. Michael and Alex did some fishing and then we headed off to a no wake zone and I jumped in. After awhile the water didn't feel so bad but I think I was just numb by that point. Ginger and Hank had to try out their new jackets. Michael tossed them overboard and Hank frizzed out. He was petrified which was funny since he loves a bath. Ginger who hates a bath was swimming around like a pro. They were pooped after we got them out of the water and both of them collapsed in the boat for a nap. Alex never would get back in the water but hung off the back of the boat all day splashing and goofing off having a good time.

May 30, 2008 More camping at Taylorsville

We up and decided to head for the lake this weekend. It was sort of a last minute trip. I took off work around 2:30 and went home and Michael had everything ready to go. Alex fell asleep on the way over and ended up sleeping in the car while we set up the camper and then even slept int the camper for about an 1 after we got everything ready and the air going. Ater he got up we fixed hot dogs and brats and then took the boat out until around 9:00.

05/29/08 Keys

Michael borrowed my keys and complained the whole time about how heavy and riduculous my key chain is. What do you think?

This is what happens to the fridge when you hubby is sleeping and the 4 year old is left to his own devices. LOL
