May 27, 2008 More t-ball

Tonight we had another T-ball game. At first it looked like we would get rained out but it held off for us to get 2 games in. Alex's team played the 7:30 game. Michael got called into work early last night so Mommy was flying solo at the game. Granny Nita and Popal Mickey came and Granny got to be the "dugout Mom" since I have to keep score and call the game. All in all it was a good game. Cold but good. His team doesn't play again until next Thursday night.

Sorry for the chain length messing up the pic. I was in the box and there are bars and fence. I felt like I was in jail. The camera kept focusing on the fence and not taking a good pic. Could have been the operator though. :o)

May 26, 2008 Hay Hay and more Hay

We've had hay on the ground since Wednesday of last week. The rain on Friday really put a damper on things. Michael got up before 7 this morning and got out and started raking. Robbie was going to come up and start in baling behind him. The hay hadn't cured out great and was bogging down the baler and then 2 belts broke and we had to call Robbie's dad to come and help splice the belts back together. Then it got humid and the hay had even more moisture and they were having a time getting bales started. It was just one thing after another and finally by around 4pm yesterday they finished up. The goats had better appreciate all the hard work that has gone into insuring that they eat well this winter.

May 25, 2008 Fun day out

Today we went fishing at Popal Ed and Grandma Charlotte's house. I took the camera and of course it stayed in the truck and I didn't take any pics. Whoops!! Alex didn't fish much he was having more fun with Grandma and Popal. Then Great Aunt M. came over with her Grandson B. and the kids played bubbles and climbed in the trees.

Later that afternoon we went to our friends house for dinner. Amy and Robbie had smoked a turkey all day and it was soooo yummy. Robbie fixed me a margarita and 1/2 way through my glass I couldn't feel my face. LOL By the end of dinner I was toast. I sat outside for a bit in a chair and then finally made my way to the couch and dozed on and off. Apparantly I was snoring. So the drunk didn't get any pics that night either. LOL Sorry!

May 24, 2008 Mikey's deer

The taxidermist called and Mikey's deer was ready. He was so excited. He's been tired of looking at my deer for the last month. hehehehe He picked it up this afternoon and of course hung it right over the TV so you had to see it all the time. He's just trying to show mine up. It is a very very nice deer though. I must give him credit where credit is due.

May 23, 2008 Black Bean and Spinach Lasagna

Michael and I love this stuff. A friend of ours made it in the past and turned us onto it. I've been looking for the recipe ever since. Our friend doesn't make it anymore and can't locate the recipe. Between this and a salad recipe that I got from another friend we are going to have a fabulous dinner. LOL

May 22, 2008 Alex first T-ball game

Alex finally got to play his first game tonight. It was quite funny. He sat in the field and played in the dirt for the most part. After the first inning he looked like he'd had been dusting himself. He did get to hit the ball and run the bases. None of the balls were ever hit in his direction so we didn't get to see his "fielding" skills in action. LOL Aunty Jo Jo was taking pics for me from the sidelines. Michael was helping coach and I was keeping score in the box. On the way home he crashed pretty much before we even got out of the parking lot.

May 21, 2008 Blooming Iris's

All of our Iris's are now blooming. We ordered a bunch of different colors last year and this year we are finally getting to see what they look like.

Ed, we've got some yellow iris with your name on

them.

May 20, 2008 Soap Opera Digest

I am a sucker for Day's of our Lives. LOL I always read ahead on the TV guide to find out what is going on for the week. Now one of the girls I work with brings in the Soap Opera Digest for me to read up on. I'm quite pitiful.

May 19, 2008 Sick doggie

This morning Ginger had to take a trip to the vet. She's been gimping on 1 leg since Saturday night and yesterday she wouldn't put any weight at all on it. I picked her up after lunch and just brought her back to the office with me. She laid at my feet all afternoon. They think she has an abcess starting so they gave me pain meds and antibiotics for her. Hopefully this will take care of everything. She's quite pitiful.

May 17 & 18, 2008 The weekend.....

I'm just going to combine Saturday and Sunday. I was alone most of the day Saturday. Michael and Alex went fishing at Guist creek and I worked in the garden all day and potted some geraniums. When Michael got home he said that the boat had taken on a lot of water while they were out. We knew that the bilge wasn't working which creates a problem if you can't get rid of the water that comes in. So Sunday Michael had his head stuck in the back of the boat pretty much all day. :o) Come to find out the boat must have been stored through the winter with water left in it. The bilge pump is cracked in several spots and the aerator is busted as well. This is where the water is coming in. So we just have to order new pumps and get them put on. We are hoping to have it fixed before next weekend. We'll see!!

May 16, 2008 Thomas the Train

Alex loves this robe for some reason. He goes through spells when he wants to wear it. This is one of those spells. He's been sleeping in it everynight. Just it and his Pull-up. He has to have it tied up and everything and wears his houseshoes too. We had been trying to get him out of his pull-ups but he sleeps so soundly that he doesn't wake up when the urge hits him to pee. I've asked for advice everywhere and I guess he's just not ready. Oh, well. We'll try again down the road. :o)

May 15, 2008 More Iris bulbs

I ordered some bulbs off of a forum that we frequent for goat information. I got a whole box and I mean almost 100 rhisomes for $20.00 shipped. I can't wait to see what colors that I've gotten. There's supposed to be over 40 different types in the box.

May 14, 2008 Lilacs

Yesterday Aunt Martha gave me some shoots off of her Lilac bush. I love the way they smell.

May 13, 2008 Doggie Life Vests

We ordered some life jackets for the puppy dogs. They were not happy modeling them at all so I just took a pic of them on the couch. Since they are going to be spending so much time on the boat this summer we want the babies to be safe. :o)

May 12, 2008 A little weeding

Not much to report on today. :o) We don't know how to act not working on fence. Aimee and I rode our bikes about 3 miles, Michael moved dirt, Dad mowed the yard and Mom and Alex threw the football around and then weeded the landscape.

May 11, 2008 Happy Mothers Day

We ended up coming home from camping around midnight last night since the weather was going to be crappy today. Crappy just doesn't even describe the weather today. It's ridiculous. I swamped out with my sister to take Mom a card and a basket of flowers, Michael called his Mom and Dad. I took a 3 hour nap. I know I know. Very lazy on my part. We had some wine last night before we left the campground with our neighbors and ended up sitting and chatting with them until almost 11pm. The wind was blowing and something got my allergies stirred up and I got up this morning with swollen bags under my glued together eyes. :o) Michael slept until 1:30 or so since he has to go to work tonight. Alex entertained himself playing in his room and watching movies. He's become quite a fan of Star Wars. He's making his way through the old movies right now. It was just a very very lazy day for all of us. I was going to take a picture of my bike and post it but the camera was still in the boat which is now covered up and I just didn't feel like going out and getting it. I'll take a pic of the bike and post it later.

May 10, 2008 A day on the water.

Today we went out on the boat. It turned out to be an awesome day. The sun was shining and it was just warm enough to be comfortable on the boat. The dogs went with us out on the boat. They did surprisingly well. I had ordered life jackets for them but they didn't come in before we left. Thank goodness they didn't try to jump overboard. LOL The fishing left a lot to be desired but they guys had a great time anyway. Alex and I took turns napping. I got fried as usual. While Alex was sleeping I was squirting him with sunscreen on whatever side he wasn't laying on and then he rolled over I'd get the other side. It was pretty funny. Here are some pics from the day.

May 9, 2008 Camping here we come!

Today we took off for Taylorsville for the weekend. Whoohoo. Work is done time for play. We stopped at Wal-Mart and bought Mommy's Mothers Day gift. A new bicycle. Pink and white and black. Now Alex and I can ride around the campground together. Daddy likes my pink bike too. He rode it around quite a bit. It started raining after we got camp set up and we couldn't get a fire lit to cook dinner so we did something we have never done while camping. I went into Taylorsville and bought dinner. Alex had breadsticks from Hometown and Michael and I had Moby Dick. We met some really nice people tonight. The people in the site next to ours had 2 kids and they took up with Alex and they played so great together. Then another couple down from us on the other side said they would share some wine with

us tomorrow night. YUM YUM

May 7, 2008 Mother's Day

I got an early Mother's Day gift from Alex. They made little milk carton flower pots with marigolds in them. How cute!!

May 8, 2008 More babies

This afternoon in a blinding rain storm these two cuties were born. Two little billies all covered in mud. LOL They are so pitiful. Michael got them up in the barn and dried as best he could but he couldn't get the mud off. Hopefully it will wear off in the near future. Mama and babies are doing wonderfully. We are now done with kidding until June. Thank goodness. Our grand total on goats has now reached 21.

May 6, 2008 Iris

I didn't have time to try the milk this morning, so I got it out this afternoon when I got home from work. Michael came in saying he still wasn't going to try it. I poured some into a glass. It's really good. I was totally surprised. I think that I'm going to try and make some cheese now.

I thought I'd take a picture of my iris's in bloom. These are on the backside of the house and get more sun so they always bloom early.

May 5, 2008 Goat Milk

Tonight I milked a goat. LOL I've been dying to try it. Everything I've read talks about how much better it is for you than cow milk. I went armed with baby wipes to clean the teats and my mason jar to milk her into. It wasn't hard to do at all. So tomorrow after it chills I'm going to give it a whirl. I'll let you know how it is. Michael says he's not going to try it. We'll see about that. The man that eats raw meat won't try goat milk?? Yeah right.

May 4, 2008 Fun day with Maggie

Alex spent the afternoon with his friend Maggie while the Mommie's and Daddy's attended a funeral. When we got back to pick him up Maggie wanted to come home with us so she came over and spent the evening. I couldn't get them to sit down and eat so finally I just decided to fix them each a plate with all kinds of aweful stuff. Mac and cheese, PB&J and Fritos. I packed it out to them and convinced them to picnic at the playset. They were great entertainment for the goats. They came up and hung around the fence and watched them play. Probably wishing they could get on the trampoline too. :o)

May 3, 2008 Finally the boat was in the water.

We didn't think we were going to be able to go out Saturday because of the rain. Finally around lunch it cleared off and away we went. :o) I got to drive since I'll be the one hauling the boat and Michael the camper. So this was my first trial run. Lets just say if I'd had a lump of coal I could have made a diamond by the time we made it to the river. I was scared to death but we made it safe and sound. LOL We went out on the Ohio first but it was very rough so we headed up the Kentucky River and went to the locks and Michael and Alex did some fishing. Let me tell you that we think Alex is going to be the next Pro fisherman. That kid was cracking us up. He was casting like he'd been doing this for years. He was having fun even not catching fish. Michael noticed him fighting with the pole and next thing you know he had a fish in the boat. Then another and another and another. He ended up catching 4 white bass and a sauger. It was a great day. Beautiful weather.

May 2, 2008 Schwan's yummy

Every other Friday is now my favorite day. The Schwan's guy comes to our office. One of the girls bought some Fudge Pops that were sugar free. I know I know. Sounds aweful, but let me tell you they are fabulous. Only 50 calories. :o) You'd never know they didn't have sugar. hehehe

So now I have to buy a box everytime he stops in.

May 1, 2008 T-ball schedule

Tonight Alex had t-ball practice. Michael was supposed to take the camera but "forgot". LOL They do have their game schedule now so I opted to take a pic of it instead. Dad and I stayed home and worked on the garden and got quite a bit of stuff planted. I would have taken a pic of that had I known that hubby forgot the camera. :o) Alex is on the Astros.
