February 28, 2008 Very Pregnant Goat!

This is Flower. She is due anytime to have babies and I'm going to stroke out if she doesn't hurry up and have them. I'm having to go and check her of a morning and come home at lunch and check them. Hopefully this weekend........

February 27, 2008 Zippers!

Here is Mr. Alex fighting with his zipper on his coat. It's amazing how fast he can get the job done when he wants to go somewhere but if it's not something he wants to do he can't zip the coat. Funny.

February 26, 2008 ACKKK!

Well, another bang up day for Alex. Another note from teacher about being agressive, throwing things, etc....We are working on removing toys from his room as we find something that he will be upset over loosing (which isn't many). There are 2 days left in the month and we are not even being good 50% of the time. We're at a loss, and I don't know what else to say....................besides finally at least we know that it's not just us.

February 25, 2008 Who's this in my kitchen!

Wow, my husband does exist under all that facial hair. LOL He finally shaved. I almost didn't recognize him without his grizzly adams motife. Guess he figured he'd better clean up for his new job. Today was his first day playing supervisor and I caught him on the way out the door. Just like a kid on the first day of school.

February 24, 2008 Snow angel!!

The ice has finally melted and it's snowing some so Alex is out having a good time this afternoon. Here he is making a snow angel. Right now him and Daddy are out on the 4wheeler.

February 23, 2008 Pool Party!

Today we went to cousin R's 2nd birthday party. It was at the Aquatic center. Alex had a ball. I couldn't hardly keep up with him in the water. With all the other kids it was hard to pick him out as fast as he was moving. There was a frog slide and sprinklers. It was a great time.

February 22, 2008 New toy

Well, Michael went and looked at this boat today and we will be bringing it home next Saturday. He gave it a 2 thumbs up. It's everything we wanted (and then some ;o) ). LOL We are very excited and can't wait to try it out. We'll be able to enjoy boating without tripping over all the crap that we never had room for in our other boat.

Michael said that he never looked back when he met the guy the other day to deliver our other boat. I was a little sad when I pulled in the garage that evening and it wasn't there. Oh, well. We'll have it's place filled soon enough. LOL

February 21, 2008 Alex cooks dinner

Alex loves to help cook dinner and do dishes. We let him stand in a chair and help out. Yes Grandparents he knows that the stove is hot and will hurt him and is very cautious and we don't leave him alone with it or anything, and he knows that knives are sharp and won't touch them to rinse or anything when doing the dishes. So here he is stirring the hominy. :o)

February 20, 2008 Hmmmmm

We are having a bit of a rough patch with Mr. Alex. He's been getting increasingly worse at school for Ms. H and today we had a nice little note in his daily folder that he had been very defiant and would not do anything they asked. When I asked him after school if he'd been good he told me yes that he'd had a good day. Only to get home and open his folder to a note from the teacher and a big frowny face. Lying has become quite the common occurance as well as not doing what he is asked. So this is a picture of where his TV and V-Smile used to be. Alex is very distraught over his favorite possesion but we don't know what else to do. So it's crack down time at our house and the leash has been tightened. One would think that terrible 2's would be over by now. :o(

February 19, 2008 Bye Bye Boat

Well, this afternoon and evening has been a whirlwind. We never expected to sell the boat this fast, but it's leaving tomorrow. It just came out in the Trader today and we had 2 people chomping at the bit this morning. So tomorrow we will say goodbye to what has become almost like a family member. We bought the boat 2 months after we got married and it's been the possesion that's been with us the longest, 10 1/2 years. It'll be sad to see it go, but we've outgrown it and it's time to move up notch. *** I'll post a pic later, I keep getting an error***

February 18, 2008 Day with Jo Jo and Dusty

Today there was no school for President's Day so Aunty Jo Jo and Uncle Dusty took care of Alex for us today. Alex loves to go to "Daddyland" (Mr. Gatti's) LOL so that's where they headed off to today for fun, pizza and prizes. You can tell from the pics that he had a blast. Jo Jo reported only 1 meltdown for the day so all in all it was a good day. She even got him to take a nap. I'm going to have to learn her secret. ;o) Notice the shiney face in the nap pic. It's drool. LOL

February 17, 2008 Favorite Book

Here's Alex reading his favorite book. Johnny Tractor and His Friends.

February 16, 2008 TV watching dogs

Tonight we played cards with friends and Alex stayed next door and had a sleepover with Granny Nita and Popal Micky. The dogs watched TV. They have always liked to watch hunting shows and last night they were hunting bears. Oh My! They were totally engrossed. It's quite funny to watch.

February 15, 2008 Bark Collars

We have 2 of the barkingest dogs ever. With all the camping we do, they can become quite a nuisance. So before camping season even gets started we are trying to break them of their annoying little habit. We actually had some campers complain about them last year at Cumberland because we left them in the camper for a bit while we went for a walk and they flipped out. They suffer from a bit of separation anxiety. So I think I've got the collars set and so far they haven't barked. I think it's more out of fear than anything. LOL Don't these look like the faces of some unsure puppies?

February 14, 2008 Supervisor Mikey!!

Congratulations to Mikey on his new job as supervisor. He is still with the same company but working in Ghent now. He was offered the job on Wednesday and accepted the position this afternoon. Not sure yet when they will have him transferred but should be in the next week or so. Congratulations honey!

February 13, 2008 ????

Not sure what Alex is supposed to be doing here. He's been out of school for snow for the last 2 days and I think he just has cabin fever. Evidently he never felt the need to get out of his pj's today as he was in the same clothes that I left him in this morning. Poor Daddy is quite sleep deprived from the last 2 days with little man being home.

February 12, 2008 Ice!

This morning at about 3:30 I woke up to what sounded like rain on the roof. I got up only to find that it was ice. So when I got up to get ready this morning I looked out back and saw my poor tree. Alex started hollering that the tree was dead and I had to go do something and fix it.

February 11, 2008 No School!

School was called off last night so here's Alex having a celebratory drink. LOL

February 10, 2008 Chili!!

It was freezing today so we decided to make a pot of chili. It definitely hit the spot. Not much went on today. We delivered 2 ricks of wood, but other than that we stayed inside and stayed warm.

February 9, 2008 The circus and visit with Great Grandma

Today we took a trip to the Kosair Shrine Circus. We had awesome seats on the floor, but unfortunately the camera just didn't take good pics with the lack of lighting during the show. Alex road an elephant and had a great time. I just couldn't get his attention to take a pic. So he's the kid in the burgandy sweatshirt with his head turned. After the circus we met up with Great Grandma at Cracker Barrell for lunch. Alex had a great time with her and I'm sure would have went home and stayed with her if we lived closer. We didn't think we would ever get out of Cracker Barrell. The two of them were like peas in a pod. Everything amazed them. LOL It took 20 minutes for the two of them to make it to the cashier. Michael and I just stood back giggling at Alex chasing her through the gift shop hollering Granny. It was definitely a day for the books. :o)

February 8, 2008 These are the Days of Our Lives

Moments ago in the Fitch house we had a great deal of "drama". Alex got locked in the bathroom with the tub running. He couldn't get the water turned off, couldn't turn the knob on the back of the door because his hands were wet. At this point so is the entire bathroom. Mommy had a bit of a freak out and that caused him to spaz. All you could see was his little arm reaching out from under the door. We thought we could just take the knob off and open the door that way but no luck. Alex had the piece now that would unlock the door and didn't know what the heck to do with it. Michael was trying to show him under the door what part to turn to unlock it but the tough part was going to be getting him to get the knob back in the hole in the door. In the meantime he calmed down enough to cheese for a pic through the hole and managed to get the water in the tub turned off before we really had a mess. It took about 15 minutes to finally get the door open. Except for the bathroom being soaked, all is well again. For now. :o) If you look closely you can see his eyeball in the hole in the door.

February 7, 2008 Hungry Hungry Hippo

I finally managed to sneak up on Alex and get a picture without him hamming it up. He's been in his room since I got home just playing Hungry Hungry Hippo all by himself and is perfectly content. This is an unusual occurance so we are enjoying it. Michael is finally starting to feel better so that's a good a good thing. I'm starting to feel a little ill, I'm just hoping that Alex and I don't come down with it.

February 6, 2008

I was bad today and didn't get a pic taken. With Michael sick and the storms that came through the night before and being sleep deprived I just didn't get arount to it. We've been without power at my office since Tuesday night when the storm hit. There's just absolutely been nothing going on other than that.

February 5, 2008 The Flu

This morning Mikey came home from work and asked me to make him a Dr. appt. which is unheard of for him. His answer is always it'll be fine. :o) So this afternoon he made a trip to the Dr. where a blood test revealed the flu and some sort of bacterial infection. He got a shot in the butt (hehehehe) and 3 prescriptions. Thank goodness for my flexible spending account. Hopefully by tomorrow he will be feeling much better.

February 4, 2008 Moonsand

This stuff is greatest. It doesn't stick to anything but itself. If it gets in the carpet it's not like PlayDoh, it vaccum's right up. It holds together well enough to form sandcastles and whatever else Mr. Alex feels the need to conjure up. Tonight it kept him occupied for almost an hour after dinner. Daddy went back to bed feeling under the weather and Mommy actually got to sit and read a book.

February 3, 2008 Another goat

Meet Caspian, the newest member of the Fitch goat family. He is a ADGA (american dairy goat assoc.) registered Nubian. We found him on a homesteading website that we frequent for advice and such on our new "project". There aren't may families on there that are within reasonable distance but we found him in Indiana. It's really quite funny how this all came about if it's not funny enough that we have become goat farmers and frequent a homesteading website. Michael has been "bartering" with the owner all week. We finally agreed on a truck load of firewood and $25.00. So today we trekked to IN. to get our new family member. Just wait til the weather starts warming up and Kimmie gets her chickens. LOL

February 2, 2008 Happy Birthday Mikey

Today was Mikey's 33rd birthday. I told him he was going to have to bake his own cake since he forgot my birthday, but in the end my concience won out and Alex and I made Daddy a cake. He wouldn't pose for a pic, he would only take pics of us making his cake. Alex has learned how to work the mixer and loves to lick the beater. I'm sure it was a yummy cake, I wouldn't know since I didn't get to eat any. I had angel food cake and fresh berries. Good but not as good as a chunk of that cake would have been. Oh, well. Once I reach my goal weight I'll celebrate with a piece of real cake.

February 1, 2008 Lexington Boat Show

Tonight Mommy, Daddy and me went to the boat show in Lexington. It was a lot farther away than Louisville. We looked at all the boats and campers. It was so much fun. Then we found the animals. :o) I got to fish for a trout and caught 1 but it got off before I got it reeled in. Then we found goats, llama's, sheep and ponies!! I got to feed the goats and the llama and then I went on a pony ride. If only I'd had my pistol and cowboy hat. Maybe next time. Here's some pics of the fun I had.
